Events of the russian revolution
On this page, you'll read about three events of the Russian Revolution. These are not the only events, but just three examples. Starting with the March Revolution. This started as a riot in Petrograd by the workers. Soldiers were ordered to take care of the rioters but soon sided with them. This caused Czar Nicholas the second to leave power. When he was abdicated, a Provisional form of Government was created, lead by Alexander Kerensky. The workers councils, Soviets, soon became more powerful than the Provisional Government.
Another event was the Russian Civil War. There were two sides consisting of two sides. The White Army was the loyalists. They fought to end Lenin's uprising and the NSO, which was the New Socialist Order. Other European nations sided with this group and aided them in their fight. The other side of the war front housed the Red Army. This group was in favor of Lenin and his ideas of Communism. The Red Army won this war. The last event I will comment on is one of the biggest mysteries to this day, and that is the deaths of Czar Nicholas the second and his family. On July 17th, 1918, the Czar and his family were told by guards that there is danger outside, shooting in the streets, and were ordered into the cellar. These we not the normal guards of the family. Once in the cellar, they were executed. There was much unrest about this subject and it is still unknown what actually happened in that cellar that July night. The men who did the execution (if the theory of the guards doing the killing claims true), they were supporters of the Red Army, who wanted to see Vladimir Lenin in control. Three of the families bodies were missing from the scene, two later to be found in a Siberian forest, and one daughters was never found. It's important to not only know of these events but all of the events of the Russia Revolution because it is what the whole unit of study is based on. To get a full understanding of the unit you need to know what happened in its entirety and be able to understand what happened and why it happened the way it did. |
